They say a haunted manor sprung from the ashes of a graveyard overnight - a hundred stories assembling from dust. Infested with a thousand different spirits and a million monsters, no one could ever make it out of the mansion alive.
Ran found herself on the rooftop as the building ascended into the darkened heavens. She had to get out. She had to reach the bottom.
There was nothing on the rooftop to scare her, but upon rushing through the stairwell, she came face-to-face with a hungry bearwolf. Out of pure shock and reflex, her fist went crashing into the monster’s jaw. To her surprise, the creature howled and writhed on the ground.
That’s right. She was Ran Mouri: karate champion, strongest of her kind. Her fists were made of silver; her heels of wooden stakes; her spit was the holiest of water. She had nothing to fear anymore, and she was going to escape this mansion.
Bounding down thousands of stairs and smiting all before her, Ran never faltered in her resolve. Countless vambears were dusted by her kicks, and hordes of zomboars fell to her speed.
She reached the last floor, and the grand double doors to freedom were before her. With a punch to the abearmination behind her, she was ready to turn and face her freedom.
“RAN!!”
Her head whipped around to find the source of the voice. Wasn’t that Shinichi’s voice? Where was he? In front of her was a ghost, and he must have been behind it…! With a mighty roundhouse kick, she vanquished the spirit and was ready to face her childhood sweetheart.
...Only, her foot didn’t meet the resistance she expected. The sheet fell away and threw her off balance. What had just been hidden behind the foul thing was the Grim Reaper himself… holding up a struggling Conan Edogawa by the back of the shirt.
She was so surprised that she didn’t have enough time to react to the horrible thing behind her - the horrible thing that clawed into her back and pulled out her very soul.
...
...
“...Remember when I told you bastards that Mouri-san had slaughtered one of my valuable minions? That I had been set back?”
“I lied.”
“He meant nothing to me. I sent him into that room with every intention of getting him killed. Just like Kirigiri-san said…!”
“Gyhaha… gyhahahahahaha!!”
